Secure Camera - A Modern Camera App Focused on Privacy and Security
Secure Camera is a modern camera app designed to prioritize privacy and security. It offers various modes for capturing images, videos, and QR/barcode scanning, along with additional modes based on CameraX vendor extensions. The app displays modes as tabs at the bottom of the screen, and you can switch between modes using either the tab interface or by swiping left or right anywhere on the screen. The app also features a row of large buttons above the tab bar for switching between cameras, capturing images and videos, and opening the gallery. Notably, the app has an in-app gallery and video player for images and videos taken with it.
One of the unique features of Secure Camera is its QR scanning mode. It is a quick and high-quality QR scanner that can easily scan very high-density QR codes from Pixels. The app also has full support for zooming in and out and can toggle the torch on and off. While the app only scans QR codes by default, you can select which barcode types it should scan via the menu at the top. However, enabling other barcode types can result in false positives, especially with difficult-to-scan barcodes such as a dense QR code. Additionally, the app requires only camera permission for its operation.
